The saga of the Chanel handbag

I had wanted a new Chanel handbag for ages and I decided this particular day that I would pop into London and buy the one I had my eyes on.

I had a really good day in London, I caught up with a couple of girlfriends for lunch and I had bought the Chanel bag and a few other goodies….all on Charles of course!

I had taken the train into London as sometimes the drive is really stressful. I was travelling first class so the journey was ok and it was nice to just sit back, relax, read the new Vogue magazine and not worry about traffic and filling up the car with petrol.

As I arrived back at the station, I got off the train and hailed a cab back to the house.

I got home and closed the door behind me. Charles came home just a few moments later and asked how my day was. I was about to tell him about the bag I’d bought when I realised that I had very, very stupidly left it on the train.

I hurried to the phone and called the station master at my local station and asked him if he could see if anyone had handed in my beautiful new Chanel handbag.

He said that nobody had handed in the bag but he would get back to me if it had been found.

I know I could have claimed for the bag on the household insurance policy, but that wasn’t the point.

Anyway, to stop myself feeling quite so annoyed at myself for leaving the bag on the train, I poured myself a large glass of wine.

An hour or so later, the phone rang and It was the station master to say that he’d had a call to say that a bag had been found on my train. I’m sure it was my bag but I had to wait until the next day for the bag to arrive at the station.

I can tell you that I did go to the station the next day and thankfully, the bag found was mine! What I can’t tell you until next time, was how I repaid the station master for locating the bag and keeping it safe for me. I promise I will tell you soon!
